Chapters 9 – 16

IX. Twins of Striving: Earning and Learning. First, they are loaded up with college debt & plugged into the matrix of big education. Then, the corporate machine-world harvests them for all they are worth. This generation is starving for direction and purpose; and what this college student does not realize, is that they are not planning their future at Panera Bread…rather, they are selling their birthright over a bowl of soup.

X. American Wedding: The nation, like a marriage, has withered over time. Our fidelity to our country is on parallel with our fidelity to our spouse. Divorce means an irrecoverable division of hearts, assets, legacy and lands. The American union will prevail.

XI. Founding Father Issues: The founding of the New World—such a multilayered epoch; centuries of global interactions across nations and groups. It cannot be understood in a day or a month or even a year—yet, this sacred history has been convoluted, and rewritten through oral tradition by the angry and hurting of society. Think of the American Revolution as a dramatic custody battle divorced people endure today—a contest to prove who could govern, provide, and defend the new family most effectively.

XII. The Crown Virus: This is the capstone chapter of our gritty philosophical treatise. The virus of monarchy has been incubating in our religious, political and economic bodies for generations. Every denomination, sector, school and city square has been made sick by this contagious idea.

XIII. American Thermopylae: To what can our present state be compared with? In the movie 300, King Leonidas kicks the Persian messenger into the well. Much like the Boston Tea party, it’s easy to pitch crates of tea into the harbor-fighting the revolution was the crucible no one wanted to get involved with. Or marriage- tying the knot was easy…staying in love was hard. Having children is easy-raising them in our values is hard. Now, more than ever, we American’s must “stand in the gap” like our Greek ancestors of unbridled courage.

XIV. Deep State: Forget conservative media and all that rhetorical garbage. I’m talking about the apathy that lives within us. Is there a firmly established shadow government which directs all things? And is this “deep state” empowered by shallow religious people-comfortable Americans who refuse to explore civics, let alone execute their God-given duties?

XV. A Hero Suffers: Everyone wants to live. Nobody wants to die. Everyone wants to be seen, but nobody wants to serve. The suffering servant was always the precious seed-the very fertilizer that nourished the heritage that America is and will become again. From 1,067 BC to 480 BC, unto this very moment, the glory of the Spartan is not grandiose heroism, but a lowliness that shines at grass level.
